‘Green’ building codes to be California state, Novato law

Governor Schwarzenegger has signed into law a greenhouse emissions bill that is slated to reduce global warming-inducing carbon dioxide by 80% of 1990 levels. The first step in the governor’s plan? Build green buildings. While the first sets of building code are optional, they are set to become more mandatory as time passes and the state government has time to review the process for fine-tuning.
