As each day passes, it becomes more evident that the “science” behind what could be the greatest hoax perpetrated on the world, global warming, is not only an inexact science, but one that is contradictory sometimes at best.

The activists of the global warming hoax continue to push for legislation to take your money and curb your lifestyle. I’ve written enough about this in the past so you know this is my pet peeve. However, the reasons cited for the need in massive cuts of supposedly man-made greenhouse gases not only change, but they accumulate as if the hoaxers hope one sticks and the collective light bulbs above the heads of each individual on the planet will wake up and realize the error of their ways.

Take, for instance, the first big reasons for fixing anthropogenic climate change: death and destruction due to increased hurricanes. Al Gore plastered an image of a hurricane on the front of his An Inconvenient Truth film box art to symbolize the coming atmospheric catastrophes that await if we don’t dial down the carbon emissions. In Gore’s film, he says that there is strong scientific consensus that global warming is leading to an increased frequency of hurricanes. One of the scientists involved as part of the consensus has now backed off his original theory that global warming causes an increase in the frequency of hurricanes and now feels that hurricanes will decrease in numbers. Also, the BBC had an article today that said scientists now think that climate change will not cause an increase in hurricanes, only citing an increase in strength of hurricanes. So the scientific consensus that Gore spoke of in his film really isn’t a consensus at all.

Polar bears continue to be a huge reason for stopping climate change. After all, who could not want to help those poor, cute, cuddly polar bears that are starving/drowning due to massive ice melt in the polar regions of the globe? If hurricanes are are symbol of global warming’s destruction, polar bears are the symbol of what can be saved by defeating climate change. Reports throughout the mainstream media continue to say that polar bears are disappearing at an alarming rate. Recently, President Bush enacted legislation to label polar bears an endangered species. Once again, science has left us with conflicting reports. Earlier today, a report arrived that said polar bear populations simply aren’t shrinking - but growing and have been for the last 30+ years.

Surely the biggest agenda item being pushed by the global warming alarmists can’t be wrong, right? The centerpiece of the climate change movement is simply this: the world is warming. Charts and graphs from the last few hundred thousand years have shown us that the planet is warming - and it’s happened mostly during the industrial revolution. The increase in temperatures was linked to carbon dioxide emissions and, all of a sudden, the world was on its way to global warming fever, no pun intended. Science, once again, came to the rescue and showed us that the planet hasn’t warmed at all since 1998 - a year when El Nino helped push the thermometer upward on the globe.

With a theory full of holes and a lack of scientific consensus, how does the global warming hoax continue to remain a mainstream topic of viable discussion? Is it Al Gore’s $300 million ad campaign?
