Alternative fuel sources are so cumbersome, expensive and, well, so undesired that Japan has decided to reinstate its solar panel subsidy. The country is experiencing delays in cutting its greenhouse gas emissions as the world’s fifth largest emitter, and is reinstating subsidies that were first cut back in March 2006 after poor demand for solar panels. Japan is offering 70,000 yen (about $774.50 US dollars) for each kilowatt of equipment installed. By the way, Japan’s highest tax bracket is 40% while in the U.S. the highest is 35%.
