The Chevron Corporation, who performs oil and gas exploration as well as the refining and marketing of oil-based products, is developing an algae-based biofuel for use in jet engines. The linked article below mostly discussed the use of biofuels in new airline tests in New Zealand, but if you skip down to the very last paragraph you’ll see the mention of other companies developing the alternative jet fuel. Chevron is among the list of participants.
