Connecticut Governor Calls for Rebate of Carbon Credits to Tax Payers

Well, sort of. Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell announced that she wants an amendment to the 10-state greenhouse reduction plan enacted in 2005. She wants portions of the sale of carbon credits set aside to help tax payers during the current depressed economy to pay for the basics, like electricity and food. But, she only wants to do this if carbon credits go for more than five dollars per ton. It’s expected that the carbon credits will sell for between three and five dollars per ton.
