Credits may not reduce emissions

It seems the current system of carbon credit allocation isn’t working effectively at reducing greenhouse emissions. A recent study found that some companies were already working to reduce carbon emissions but have taken carbon credits for those efforts anyway, resulting in no net reduction of greenhouse gases.
