A recent poll found that a majority of British Columbians (64%) were opposed to the carbon tax that went into effect on July 1st. Those surveyed want strong action on climate change but in a fair and effective manner. Also, 77% of those polled did not feel as though they have come out ahead financially through the carbon tax dividend, a payout designed to return tax revenue to carbon tax payers to ease the pain of the new tax.
