The Netherlands has instituted an environmental tax on flights out of its airport to a destination outside the country, which amounts to about $17.75 per passenger.  About 50,000 fewer passengers are expected to use Amsterdam Schiphol airport, which is one of Europe’s busiest, due to the new environmental tax.  Way to slow the economy, global warming activists.

Back in 2004, Tony Blair’s scientific advisor, Sir David King, said that global warming was worse than terrorism.  Today, that vision has become reality as the socialist agenda behind global warming is coming to pass as recognized by the President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, who sees the global warming myth as nothing but a way to keep world economies depressed - except for the personal economies of those perpetrating the myth.

Editorial piece from the Edmunton Sun yesterday described the driving force behind the global warming myth:  pure socialism and votes.  Politicians see it as a tool for votes in addition to an opportunity for redistribution of wealth as rich countries pay for their carbon emissions while poor countries do nothing.

With gasoline at or above $4.00 per gallon, the President is calling for a lift on the offshore drilling ban to ease prices at the pump. As more Americans become weary of high fuel costs, their inclination to save the planet could take a back seat to lower gas prices, and that means little support for a carbon tax. Sorry, Al Gore.

Finally the folks of the United States have spoken out against the global warming hysteria by approving to rezone farm land for a new oil refinery.  The facility, when built, will create 1,826 new full-time jobs and during construction will require the services of 4,500 construction workers.  The people of South Dakota aren’t afraid of being politically incorrect and their decision to make this oil refinery a reality will boost the local economy and provide high-paying jobs.

You basically have three options as a company once Gore implements his carbon credit scam. The first, buy carbon credits to get your greenhouse gas emissions down to 1990 levels. Second, implement expensive carbon-cutting technology in lieu of buying credits. Third, close up your American operations and move them overseas to a country that’s not bound to emissions standards.
