In a move to target women and Reagan conservatives, John McCain picked Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his VP running mate. Palin, a first-term governor, is a pro-drilling candidate. Let’s hope this influences McCain’s energy policy and pushes him away from the global warming advocacy he’s displayed in recent years.

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is expected to be in the running for John McCain’s VP pick and, as a big talker of smaller government, Pawlenty also believes we should have listened to former President Jimmy Carter on his energy policy. Pawlenty said that we shouldn’t spend time on voices that say climate change isn’t real.
