More news is out about the debacle that is ethanol-based biofuel, and it’s not good.  A recent report found that 75% of the increase in food prices between 2002 and 2008 can be attributed to biofuel production.  Food prices have soared 140% during this time.  Food for thought for the environmentalists, I suppose.

Read More: Breitbart.com is reporting on something German scientists are just beginning to discern:  carbon dioxide appears to help plans and increase crop yields.  A 10% increase in yields for barley, wheat and beets was discovered when given extra carbon dioxide, the study concluded.  However, for the global warming spin, you must read on.  Weigel said the studies have indicated that while greater CO2 exposure appears to spur growth, it can also undermine the quality of the produce.

I’m proud of the British government right now.  Finally someone over there has awakened to the fact that biofuels cause food prices to skyrocket and massive shortages around the globe.  This is in direct conflict with the EU, who says rising food prices are due to increased demand for meat and dairy as well as bad weather.

From NewsBusters:  CNN ran a headline earlier that said climate change causes bony island kids.  Apparently CNN thinks a drought in the region is caused by global warming rather than any other natural causes - like the fact that there have been droughts and deserts around the globe for a long, long time.  This supposed global warming-induced drought has reduced crop growth in the region.
