The Live Earth event scheduled for December 7th in Mumbai has been cancelled because of the recent terror attacks in that city. The concert was originally planned to raise money for solar energy projects. Among those who were scheduled to attend, rocker Jon Bon Jovi, Roger Waters and Anoushka Shankar, daughter of sitar player Ravi Shankar, a man that shaped the musical influences of the former (and late) Beatle George Harrison.

Al Gore’s Live Earth event, a seven-continent festival of live music to educate others on the dangers of global warming celebrated its one year anniversary earlier this week. The news media didn’t cover their political darling’s program anniversary nor did we hear about millions of people modifying their lifestyles voluntarily to become carbon compliant. No rock stars faced the camera to declare themselves greenhouse gas-free. Nothing.

During last July’s Live Earth concerts held simultaneously in New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Hamburg, Al Gore tried to harness the promotional power of environmentally inclined rock stars like Madonna, The Police and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to raise global awareness of “a climate in crisis”. But some wags dubbed the concert “private jets for climate change”, referring to the rockstar lifestyle, and the concerts themselves produced 35,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

The Live Earth global warming hoax concerts are being planned as a simultaneous event at multiple campuses around the United States on October 5th. The funny part about all of this is that, prior to the event, Live Earth will invite the Democratic and Republican nominee to clarify their positions on issues such as “climate change, renewable energy and other green issues.” How about Al Gore clarifying his position on food shortages, starvation and how biofuels are expected to cause more environmental damage than gasoline?
