The Democrats have punted the ball on fourth and inches.  Instead of giving the American people a real shot at energy independence, Pelosi and her posse passed a bill that would open offshore drilling only at 50 or more miles off the coast (where there’s about 3% of oil compared to 97% within 50 miles).  But this is all a moot point now as the bill won’t come up for a vote in the Senate until after the election.

The Democrats in the House passed a very poor bill aimed at opening up offshore drilling in an effort to get themselves reelected, umm, lower energy prices for America.  The bill only allows for offshore drilling 50 miles out when most of the oil is much closer to the coastline.  Way to go, Dems!  We won’t forget this in November!

Neil Cavuto contacted Pelosi’s office inquiring about her investments in T. Boone Pickens’ wind farm initiatives but she failed to respond to the question or even acknowledge it.  The current stock price of the investment is at $14 per share and it’s estimated that Pelosi owns between 7,000 and 17,000 shares.  But I suppose an “honest and open government” doesn’t apply to those who have a financial interest in seeing a successful offshore drilling initiative.  WIth each passing day, global warming appears to be more and more of a hoax, …

It depends on how it’s packaged according to the House Speaker, which should include a release of some strategic reserves. That’s how her Democrats will take credit for this, folks. They’ll say their plan to release oil from the reserves dropped oil prices quickly. Watch the crude price today and see if this news causes it to drop further.
