The New South Wales government in Australia is seeding the clouds in the Snowy Mountains region to increase rainfall, which after the first application increased precipitation by 10-15%. Primary Industries Minister Ian Macdonald commented, “well this is human intervention to try and address some of the problems that may be created by human induced, too [...]

A screen has been erected in the Swiss Alps at about 2300 meters (6900 feet) to keep cold winds over the glacier and help slow the melting glaciers. The screen measures about 15 meters long (49 feet) and about three meters (10 feet) high.

(H/T: Blog at the End of Time). Another silly idea has been proposed by scientists that just don’t seem to grasp scale. Lime can be added to the oceans to increase their ability to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The problem is that (a) the oceans are huge and this [...]

Two chemists are developing a method by which carbon dioxide can be recycled and used in a variety of plastics. While this method won’t completely eliminate the amount of carbon dioxide in the air, it will go a long way in helping fix global warming.
One problem here: environmentalists hate plastic. Expect this to be another [...]

(H/T: Tom Nelson). Science is wrong again. After predicting that global warming would cause sea levels to rise and areas like Bangladesh would surely be underwater, the opposite has happened: Bangladesh is actually gaining land. Scientists have studied 32 years’ worth of satellite imagery and found that Bangladesh is gaining 20 square kilometers of landmass [...]

Last month I posted an article on the prophesied melting of the entire Arctic region over the course of this summer. Not only has this not happened, surprise, surprise, but there is actually more ice in the Arctic waters than is typical of this year. Anthony Watts grabbed a satellite image of the Arctic and [...]

It seems science has lied to us again. Carbon dioxide has been touted as being well-mixed in the atmosphere and thus a reduction in the greenhouse gas would lower the planet’s temperature. Not so fast, according to this article from Anthony Watts. Satellite data shows that the atmosphere’s carbon dioxide content isn’t [...]

The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration released figures yesterday saying that June was the ninth warmest June on record at 0.9 degrees (F) warmer than the average June. But not so fast! The University of Alabama at Huntsville presented their global assessment declaring June the ninth coldest in 30 years of record keeping. A NASA [...]
