Global Warming Hoax Week-in-Review 06/15/2008
Hi everyone and welcome to the week-that-was in global warming hoax news! I hope everyone took a moment to visit or remember their father on this Father’s Day in the U.S.
Sunday, June 8th:
When you think of socialism, do images of China and the former Soviet Union come to mind? Believe it or not, it’s slowing coming to the United States as environmentalists push for more control in government. The recently defeated Lieberman-Warner bill debated in the U.S. Senate is one example where environmentalists are pushing their agenda for control through higher taxes and lifestyle changes. Think it’s over now that the bill is dead? Not so fast. Expect a similar bill to be introduced next year after the 2008 elections. With global warming enthusiasts John McCain and Barack Hussein Obama running for the presidency, it’s likely this type of legislation will pass. Speaking of environmentalists, we know they’re trying to control the government. Now they’re causing economic instability. From their pressure on government officials to stop domestic oil drilling to spreading fear about nuclear power plants, they seem to be an unstoppable force. Next time you pay $4.00 per gallon at the pump, you can thank an environmentalist.
Monday, June 9th:
While Gore and his band of not-so-merry bandits spread the lie that carbon dioxide is bad, a new study found that the planet is greener than it has been in a long time. With all this man-made carbon dioxide floating around in the atmosphere, 25% of the Earth’s landmass saw gains in plant growth while only 7% saw decreases. Better hurry and harvest that grain before the environmentalists turn this planet into a big blue ice marble. In other news, a guest on ABC’s Good Morning America had the nerve to blame the recent heat wave on greenhouse gas emissions. This is particularly funny because all the pro global warming blogs say you can’t blame the planet’s recent cooling trend on the end of global warming. You can’t have it both ways, ecolibs. Pick a side.
Tuesday, June 10th:
Corn prices set another record, according to a report Tuesday. While the article did it’s best to blame other factors outside the current corn-based ethanol scam on the high prices, it did get an honorable mention as a contributing factor. $6.73 per bushel is now the going rate for corn. Wheat and rice are up as well. Environmentalists have made a refinery go back to the drawing board in Illinois over the state’s policy, or lack of one, on “flaring”, a process by which excess waste is burned off. Again, the state has no policy on flaring, but the environmentalists have certainly decided that they are above the law in forcing the refinery construction offline.
Wednesday, June 11th:
The United States experienced one of the coolest springs on record in 2008 - the 36th coolest since record keeping began in 1895 and had the 34th coolest May on record. Holy global cooling, Batman! The spring temperature was 0.5?F below the 20th century average. Cashews may solve global warming, or at least cut back on bovine emissions as the oil found in cashew shells cut greenhouse gas emissions by 90% in livestock burps. There is a patent pending and I’m sure the researchers will make some cash on their investment, sort of like pharmaceutical companies do, except they’ll be praised, not hated, for their discovery by the libs. Even if it costs taxpayers millions.
Thursday, June 12th:
Here’s something comforting: scientists funded by the U.N. have declared that we must cut emissions in half by 2050 else we can expect temperatures to climb 3.6 to 4.2 degrees above pre-18th century levels. And the environmentalists claim skeptics of global warming are shills for the oil companies? How about all global warming activists are shills for government agencies? New Hampshire has officially joined the ranks of states believing in the global warming myth. The state’s governor has signed on to a 10-state regional effort (regional - keep that in the back of your head for later) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. So many fine universities up there yet so little brain power.
Friday, June 13th:
NPR (the government-funded “public” radio) recently had a global warming nut say that Republican golfers were “stupid” because they believed global warming was a hoax. So liberals are tolerant but liberal environmentalists aren’t? I hear too much name-calling for there to be any tolerance in that camp. It was learned on Friday that 74% of Congressional Republicans are climate change deniers while 95% of Congressional Democrats believe in global warming. So the old bumper stickers that read, “Think for yourself. Vote Republican” and “Vote Democrat. It’s easier than thinking” really do make sense.
It seems as if most folks make an effort to visit Skeptics Global Warming during the week, so my posts on the weekends will be limited. Therefore, the week-in-review will focus mostly on weekday events that shaped the world of climate change going forward. Happy Father’s Day everyone!
