Scientific Truths Infected with Uncertainty

I admit, I got the idea of writing this article from one I viewed over at Read More: ClimateChangeFraud.com. The author of that blog is right, though. Science is infected to the point that almost no one notices any longer.
To take a step back from the global warming angle for just a moment, let’s think back to many scientific “truths” that we take for granted: the universe is 13-point-something billion years old. It all started with the Big Bang. We evolved from apes. Liberal environmentalists make great leaders.
The point to be made here is this: none of the aforementioned scientific “facts” are indeed facts. None have been observed or ever will be. None have concrete evidence to support themselves. But yet we’ve been conditioned to believe that these are all true - either through a lack of vocal dissent or just sheer will. The same applies to the global warming myth. Millions, if not billions, around the globe accept global warming as a planetary emergency that must be handled at the first opportunity. It’s a crisis and doomsday is just around the corner unless we do something quickly. Eighteen months, if you listen to Prince Charles.
So what is the science around global warming? We’re told that the planet is heating up with no net gain in temperatures since 1998. We’re told that global warming will cause an increase in hurricanes, yet the hurricane seasons of the last two years have been relatively quiet. We’re also told that climate change will cause droughts and unrelenting heat, yet the winter of 2007-2008 was the coldest and snowiest on record in many places around the globe.
At a time when scientists and politicians alike are trumpeting the immediate and dire consequences of global warming, other scientists are predicting that global warming will stop for the next 10 years. The cooling around the planet during the most recent winter season has been blamed on La Nina, but the massive heat from 1998 cannot be blamed on El Nino, because that doesn’t fit in with the environmentalists’ agenda. The lack of sun spots also don’t fit in with the global warming agenda, although activity between the sun and the Earth with regard to temperature seems to be closely correlated.
So just remember: just because someone says it’s so on either side of the global warming debate, check the facts and make an informed decision. The strength of the activists’ agenda lies in spreading the same half-truths and mistruths over and over again with few taking time to verify the data.
