Another Badly-Placed Temperature Station

Dateline: Monroe, North Carolina. A temperature monitoring station sits just outside the local fire station, which is also next to a major highway. The device also sits within feet of a brick wall which, as described in the article, is a major heatsink at night. As if that were not enough, some air conditioning vents reside nearby, forcing warm air into the surrounding area. A temperature graph is shown comparing Monroe to the nearby Charlotte/Douglas International Airport graph and the two have very distinct differences. So which one is right?
