The global warming myth is nothing but a coalition of left-leaning environmentalists in this country and around the world continuing their desperate push to enact lifestyle-changing legislation and it’s become very apparent that your money and your lifestyle are the two targets of the climate change campaign.

Look at how the government has placed itself rather obtrusively in our lives then reflect on how it has not only failed to protect us, but sometimes put us in harm’s way by making us more dependent on it. For example, Social Security was enacted to give citizens cash payments after retirement. Unfortunately, this led to a generation of individuals that placed their sole trust in the government and now the system is going bankrupt. After paying my fair share into the broken Social Security system, I’m afraid that I won’t see a dime of my money upon retirement. But the government got what it wanted - a generation or two of people that trusted that their government would take care of them - dependents on the state, if you will. And to pay for you to be dependents on the state, a new tax was enacted and became a mandatory deduction from your payroll wages and you were automatically enrolled regardless of your interest in participation. The same is happening with global warming today.

Believers in the global warming myth also believe that their government can save them from the continent-sized hurricanes, pounding seas, torrential rains and a desert-like world where plants no longer grow and humans starve. Oh sure, the environmentalist regime played nice at first, asking that everyone conserve our precious natural resources like water and paper. Then suddenly that wasn’t enough. So then the green movement prodded us into recycling our water and our paper but, again, it wasn’t enough to satisfy the power-hungry, and now growing, faceless cause known as the tree huggers. So the government stepped in, always eager to lend a helping hand when needed most. Government-mandated low-flow shower heads and toilets replaced conventional models that required significantly more water. Recycling boxes accompanied our garbage cans to the curb every week and grocery stores offered the choice of paper or plastic. America moved forward in the fight against environmental issues but it still wasn’t enough. There was more power to be held over the citizens of the country and of the world. This time, however, the lie had to be so big and told so many times that the other governments and the citizens of the world would believe it. And that lie was global warming.

Sure, global warming seemed easy enough at first. The cities will build massive carpool lanes and public transit infrastructures, paid for with your tax dollars, in an effort to help cut down on pollution and carbon emissions. Maybe drive a little less on the weekend, you know, just to do your part to help out the environment a little. Then came hybrid technology - a boxy little car that had no horsepower but got 70 miles per gallon. The problem was that gasoline wasn’t so expensive that people felt the need to save money by purchasing a hybrid. And along came a new administration, and a new war, that, if nothing else, had the potential to raise oil prices to levels unheard of in history. Any conflict in the Middle East is going to raise oil prices. A six-year war in the Middle East and occupation of a major oil-producing country whose leader was toppled and executed while maintaining tense relations with a neighboring country and member of OPEC is going to raise the price of oil significantly. And all of a sudden, gasoline became expensive. Hybrids became the new family truckster. Except everyone didn’t want a small boxy car with no horsepower. So the plan to develop alternative fuel sources arose out of the ashes and now global warming takes control. Global warming with it’s leader Al Gore, is now in the business of controlling what you do. The food you eat? It’s more expensive thanks to biofuels. The car you drive? It’s more expensive to operate now because of oil prices. What’s the alternative? Ethanol, a highly government-subsidized corn-based fuel. And your incandescent light bulbs? in 2012, no one will even use the word incandescent any longer. They’ve been banned for sale after the year 2012 by your own government. With what other means can the global warming movement possibly control you? California wants to have central control over all thermostats in homes. Australia wants to implement a birth tax to offset carbon emissions by the individual, with annual payments to the government for life. And Canada is implementing a carbon tax in British Columbia this year to help curb the amount of greenhouse emissions from people and businesses.

So the next time a celebrity spokesperson or a government representative asks you to do something nice to help with a cause, remember: you’ll eventually be enrolled anyway regardless of your interest in participation.
