Tipping Point Started in 1989

(H/T: Paul). I posed a question to my readers last week as to when the tipping point would really start with regard to global warming. Should we expect that the goalposts will continue to move as climate catastrophes prophesized failed to come to fruition?Almost on cue, a press release from James Inhofe’s blog has pointed out that the U.N. made a statement in 1989 that we must reverse the effects of global warming by the year 2000. Eight years later, the planet has cooled, the polar ice caps are stable or growing and none of the predicted calamities had come to pass. Now Al Gore is pressuring leaders around the world to become completely reliant on clean, renewable energy in 10 years. More goalposts shift or does science really have it right this time? I’m betting science has a long way to go before they understand climatology.
