Al Gore’s best hope has turned into his worst nightmare. The economy, slowed by high oil prices and transportation costs, has turned people away from the green lifestyle in an effort to save money. Governments are quietly dropping green taxes and fees and those hit by the slow rate of economic growth are hitting back by not shopping at organic food stores, where prices tend to be higher than those of regular supermarkets.
