Bob Barr was recently asked in a blogger conference call his opinion on global warming.  Barr felt that we, as a country, shouldn’t rush into an emergency plan for something that he onced referred to in an interview with Glenn Beck as a “myth”.  Barr says the science isn’t in on anthropogenic global warming and, until that time, more research into the topic should be done before policies are implemented.  He continued to say that we are a petroleum society and that’s not going to change in the long run but we will need to get ourselves off fossil fuel-based energy in the long term.
