Starbucks in Hot Water Over Tap

And here I thought Seattle was a haven for planet-loving people and companies.  Guess I was wrong.  Seattle-based Starbucks is in trouble over leaving tap water running constantly in their 16,000 stores worldwide.  The water is used for cleaning utensils and says that it’s done to prevent bacteria from growing in their taps.  This procedure wastes, on minimum, about 1.63 million liters of water per day as it is not recycled.  Starbucks is known as an environmentally-friendly company, having reduced their paper napkin size to reduce solid waste and even donating coffee grounds for gardens.  Looks like the internationally-known coffeehouse will need to work on reducing their liquid waste now as well.
