House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) says African Americans are disproportionately impacted by climate change in health, social and economic areas. A new report suggested a new tax on carbon polluters be created to help low and middle-class families eliminate the financial burden of stopping climate change. The revenues from this tax would then be redistributed to those families to offset the natural increase in prices due to the implementation of climate change measures. So a new tax is being proposed to fight a problem that doesn’t exist, only to take the revenue from that tax and redistribute it to the poor? Sounds like socialism to me.
