The U.N.’s global program for reducing emissions to halt global warming is heading down the path of failure. The program oversees the sale of carbon credits and the approval of alternative energy sources and is doing little to push eco-friendly industries, which is the core focus of the effort. Proposals for wind farms, corn processing plants, sugar mills and palm oil factories have all been denied under the U.N. program. In addition, two wind farms in India were denied the ability to sell carbon credits. Just as the oil-for-food scandal rocked the U.N., it appears as though a new scandal may be brewing and this time, it’s just more failed government bureaucracy. As a skeptic of global warming, I loathe government intervention to “fix” the so-called climate change “crisis”, but at the same time the global panel should follow through with their intended agenda, or get out of the business altogether.
