Australians Put Jobs Before Climate Change

A July poll of 1001 people in Australia found that 21% were not willing to pay additional costs for their electricity to help fix global warming.  Another 32% were willing to pay an extra $10 per month on their power bill to help fight climate change.  Last year, climate change was tied for first place as the most important foreign policy issue.  This year, it’s fifth.  As I put my tongue firmly in my cheek, let me say this:  how dare Australians worry about themselves, their families and their jobs before they think about climate change!  How can Australians have their priorities so out of whack as to worry about feeding their families instead of paying through the nose to solve global warming?   Maybe the realization that this is a hoax is finally becoming evident to those around the world and, in particular, Australia.
