More Socialism: EU Bans Incandescent Bulbs

European Union ministers meeting in Luxembourg have given final approval to the ban of incandescent light bulbs.  Their replacements, CFLs, are supposed to last longer and use less energy than their now-banned counterparts and use less electricity.  However, opponents say that CFLs take a while to warm up, they flicker, and there are environmental hazards associated with them as they contain mercury.
