From 2006: NASA chief global warming guru James Hansen cried fowl over the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association’s purported muzzling of scientists, referring to them as “Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union.†He claimed the NOAA monitors all communications between scientists and journalists. NOAA Administrator Conrad Lautenbacher denied the charges, saying that the administration only wants to know about contact with the press, but does not monitor the discussions. And, pay attention here folks, Hansen said he knows of NOAA scientists that are upset with the restrictions in place, but are too afraid to speak out.
