Al Gore, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

[10 Nov 2008 | 3 Comments | 442 views]

Al Gore had an editorial piece printed in the New York times today.  It’s full of typical environmentalist talking points but only half of the truth is provided.  Follow along as I share my comments (in bold) under each of Gore’s paragraphs (in italics) so help break down the truth from the hyperbole.  While I’ll only excerpt parts of the opinion piece, the entire op-ed can be read by following the link at the bottom of this post.
[W]e…must make…an emergency rescue of human civilization from the imminent and rapidly growing …

Surely this is a hoax, but worth the chuckle. Al Gore’s new online presence debuted yesterday, a day after Barack Obama became the president-elect of the United States. Gore’s “An Inconvenient Blog” has an about section on the first page with his photo and quick summary of his achievements. Those achievements? Inventing the Internet and global warming. This must be a joke. I thought the real Al Gore called it “climate change” or the “climate …

Klockarman over at the Gore Lied site dug up this little nugget. A 14 year-old went to climate camp (yes, I’m wondering what that is too) and became certified to instruct on Gore’s hoax. Unlike a real camp where you get to canoe, hike and fish, I’m supposing you can live the Al Gore lifestyle at this one. I wonder if it includes a private jet and all the meat you can eat?

Time now for the latest edition of The Daily Bayonet’s Global Warming Hoax Week-in-Review. In this week’s post, you can read about the following:
Is Al Gore an extortionist?
Tom Nelson ponders the question: why aren’t ocean levels a foot higher?
Two words: Alicia Silverstone. But she’s a little short of a picnic.
The WWF is calling for a second planet because we use too many resources on one.
China demands that the west pay for climate change measures. Like I need another tax.
Someone has developed carbon taxes …

Hit them hard and hit them young. Mary Doerr saw Gore’s fictional documentary An Inconvenient Truth at Stanford University and decided to start a group, Inconvenient Youth, to indoctrinate teens on the global warming movement. In conjunction with Disney, teens across the country will be able to hear Gore’s message across the country. Disney concerts will also carry the green message.

The National Civil Rights Museum in in Memphis is awarding Al Gore their annual Freedom Award.  Gore, who was named as a recipient in August, received the award on Tuesday.  It is being given to him for making us all aware of the dangers of anthropogenic global warming.  So evidently the museum believes in that myth as well.  Gore made a point of saying that his campaign against global warming has many parallels to the civil rights movement.  Funny.  A truly great man, Martin Luther King Jr., lost his life …

Tom Nelson has dug up an article from CBN News where a presidential advisor in the Philippines claimed that we’re only 42 years away from the global warming tipping point.  Whoa.  Not so fast there, partner.  The tipping point started in 1989 with a call by the U.N. to reverse global warming by the year 2000.  Al Gore recently said that we only have 10 years to get off fossil fuels and become dependent on clean and renewable energy.  Maybe all of these global warming activists should get into a …

An opinion piece in The Harvard Crimson, the University’s daily newspaper, lambasts Gore for continuing to eat meat all while preaching the virtues of a carbon-reduced lifestyle to anyone who will listen.
While the person who shared in the win of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, is a vegetarian, Gore is not.  And while Gore does apparently now drive a Prius, studies find that preparing even 2.2 pounds of meat produce emissions equivalent of 80 pounds of carbon dioxide.  An inconvenient truth, indeed.

Although I am a Mac convert from early 2006 with my first Intel-based iMac and several additions to the Mac family over the years, I’ve always been dismayed at Al Gore’s presence on the board of directors at Apple.  Nonetheless, I love my Mac, even if Apple is buying the green movement.  There’s even a new update to System Preferences.  The old energy saver icon that was depicted by an incandescent bulb has been replaced by a CFL bulb.  Just be careful if you drag it to the trash on …
