A July poll of 1001 people in Australia found that 21% were not willing to pay additional costs for their electricity to help fix global warming.  Another 32% were willing to pay an extra $10 per month on their power bill to help fight climate change.  Last year, climate change was tied for first place as the most important foreign policy issue.  This year, it’s fifth.  As I put my tongue firmly in my cheek, let me say this:  how dare Australians worry about themselves, their families and their jobs …

Crank up the carbon-emitting vehicles and head down the road for some greenhouse gas-spewing fun, all in the name of saving an endangered species. Cold water has separated the endangered Australian grey nurse shark populations on the continent’s east and west coast but rising ocean temperatures, thanks to global warming, will allow the two groups to join and reduce the chance of an extinction. We can’t possibly enact legislation to stop global warming now. We could kill off the last remaining grey nurse sharks.

Off the southern coast of Australia, a problem with extreme waves has been detected over the last 45 years.  Wave heights have gotten larger and larger waves have increased in frequency, especially during the autumn and winter months.  A link has also been made between climate change and extended monsoon seasons in northern Australia.

What a load of **** by the climate change activists.  The coldest Australian August in 35 years, and coldest in Sydney for 60 years, is now being considered a symptom of global warming.  WWF spokesperson Paul Toni said that the freezing temperatures are proof of the urgent need to cut carbon pollution.  I guess we’re down to blaming any weather system on global warming.

Australia may be taking the first steps in abandoning the cap-and-trade scheme in favor of a direct carbon tax. While this isn’t certainly the best news to come out of the global warming hoax, the article’s author does make a valid point: a tax is much easier to repeal than an economic takeover by the government.

The New South Wales government in Australia is seeding the clouds in the Snowy Mountains region to increase rainfall, which after the first application increased precipitation by 10-15%.  Primary Industries Minister Ian Macdonald commented, “well this is human intervention to try and address some of the problems that may be created by human induced, too much carbon in the atmosphere.”  Since global warming causes all types of weather, what will the New South Wales government do if it rains too much?

Businesses in Australia have told the government to go back to the drawing board with regard to the proposed emissions trading scheme. Companies in Australia fear that up to one-third of trade-exposed businesses could shut down from competition not under a similar scheme.

Drought »

See if you can point out the discrepancy here.  The article says that cotton has been affected by drought in recent years.  The title of the article says Australia cotton faces climate threat.  But according to global warming activists, small-scale changes in climate aren’t indicative of large-scale patterns.  So can we now equate short-term cooling with global cooling, or is that still off limits?
