South Africa, as part of their voluntary greenhouse gas reduction plan, is exploring options to implement a tax on carbon to help reduce the country’s overall emissions according to Environmental Affairs and Tourism Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk.  While not finalized yet, the carbon tax may start off with a small overall rate and increase as we get closer to 2018 or 2020.  In addition, the country is in discussions to implement a cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions to limit the overall greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere by the country.  …

In the six months of this blogs existence, it has become painfully clear that the objective of the global warming hoax is to tax and control.  What’s not so funny about the means of meeting that objective is that it’s based on lies, discrediting the opponent and sheer dodging of the debate.  While Gore says there’s no debate over global warming, many of his minions disagree and will go on ad nauseam about why global warming is real as many in the left-leaning environmentalist camp just hate to lose an argument.  So here are …

I recently watched a re-run of the television series The Incredible Hulk, starring Lou Ferrigno and Bill Bixby.  In this episode, Bruce Banner attempted to use a radiation chamber in a nuclear plant to reverse the effects of the gamma rays that caused his monstrous condition.  The last thirty minutes of the episode dealt with an earthquake that caused the cooling systems to fail and a nuclear meltdown was imminent.  The entire city was evacuated.  Freeways were jammed with automobiles and residents fled for their lives.  But in the end, …

The planet has cooled more than 0.7 degrees in 16 months, which is more than the entire net warming of the 20th century.  There is no rethinking of the science or updates to the models, although it’s pretty obvious to everyone involved that they are wrong.  No admission from the Gore crowd on defeat.  Instead, more cap-and-trade schemes are being cooked and more taxes are being drawn from your bank accounts to pay for this fictitious, and environmentally-harmless, “crisis”.

Will it effectively address climate change? Is cap-and-trade a proven system? Is there an economic impact?

Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

All this discussion in the blogosphere about the McCain-Lieberman-Warner bill has me thinking about what true global warming hoaxers should push:  a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
But wait!  They are pushing for carbon dioxide emissions, right?  To a point, yes.  But not wholly.  Let me explain.
The current iteration of proposed legislation in the United States pushes for a cap-and-trade system, which allocates so many carbon credits to those who emit greenhouse gases.  Once the budget has been met, the entity must buy more credits or stop emissions.  But what about …

You basically have three options as a company once Gore implements his carbon credit scam. The first, buy carbon credits to get your greenhouse gas emissions down to 1990 levels. Second, implement expensive carbon-cutting technology in lieu of buying credits. Third, close up your American operations and move them overseas to a country that’s not bound to emissions standards.

Excellent Forbes Magazine opinion piece on why the McCain-Lieberman- Warner bill won’t work. As power plants shift from coal to natural gas, they become direct competitors of supply with individuals and businesses. To further complicate the problem, domestic natural gas production has remained flat while demand has increased. If the environmentalists hadn’t scared this country away from nuclear power, we’d be well on our way to cheap, and clean, energy.

Economy, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

Those left-leaning environmentalist types are a sneaky bunch.  Complaining about the current state of the economy while pushing legislation to stop it in its tracks.
First, the good news: (link no longer active) the U.S. economy grew more than expected in the first quarter, beating analysts expectations. We can all rejoice that it’s quite possible to avoid a recession, as defined by two consecutive quarters of negative growth.
While the Democrats continue to push any available news that the U.S. economy is in trouble and it’s the fault of the …
