It seems some Irish companies are undergoing “greenwashing”, a term used to describe entities who claim to be more green than they truly are.  In a time when global warming is front page news and the climate change zealots have brainwashed the masses, corporations are turning to advertising their green conscious.  Unfortunately for some, that includes buying bogus carbon credits that don’t truly offset their carbon emissions.  This doesn’t set well with “certified” carbon credit providers who want their money so they can profit from the global warming myth.

Emission trading schemes are nothing but global socialist programs according to the article. Wealthy countries are paying taxes, in the form of carbon credits and carbon “incentives”, which in turn provides revenue to the host country to distribute to poor countries. In America, we call that a redistribution of wealth.

Over the weekend, the U.N. suggested that meat-eaters are causing more anthropogenic global warming. If we want to make a personal sacrifice for the good of the planet, we should have one meat-free day every week. Here’s my thought: how about the elitists involved in the global warming sham stop their personal jet flights around the country first, since global warming is a true crisis, instead of paying for carbon credits that may or may not benefit the planet.

British Coal-fired power plant company Drax has had its profits plunge by almost half as it now has to pay carbon credits for being the largest single carbon polluting station. Drax spent 107 million pounds this year under the European emissions trading scheme when carbon allocations were reduced. The company paid about 11 million pounds last year. So now we know that the target of the global warming movement is big industry and their objective is to run them out of business.

The Democratic National Convention is offering delegates the ability offset their transportation emissions by purchasing carbon credits that will be invested in alternative energy sources.  One such source, a wind turbine in eastern Colorado and a project of the local school district, has received funding from the sale of said carbon credits.  The problem?  The wind turbine doesn’t actually do much.  It’s mechanical parts have malfunctioned, causing it to significantly under perform its potential.  How about using the capital raised by the sale of carbon credits for something useful, like …

When you eat off a plate, do you buy new plates to exchange your food-stained ones?  Do you buy new clothes every time you soil your laundry?  Of course not.  So why buy carbon credits for clean air when you put carbon dioxide into your existing air?  This opinion piece points out the basic element of the carbon credit scam:  you’re buying air.  You’re buying air from someone that hasn’t bothered to put carbon dioxide in it so that you can continue your not-so-environmentally friendly ways.

With all the recent concern over methane gas emitting from bovine burps, an interesting question has been posed by the team over at NewsBusters:  will we be required to buy carbon credits to offset natural bovine emissions whenever we eat meat?  While I don’t think a plan like this is eminent, it sure demonstrates a level to which the environmentalists would stoop to drive their point home.
