The spin in this article is easy to spot.  New record prices for corn are caused by midwest rain, rising oil costs and a falling dollar.  Six paragraphs into the article there is a mention of a push to grow corn for ethanol.  Regardless, corn prices are up to $6.73 per bushel and soy, wheat and rice are all up as well.

Food, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

As I was reading an article over at Hypisthermal’s site (Read More: hypsithermal.wordpress.com) on Kansas farmers trying to grow food in cool weather, I immediately began to ponder the possibilities of global cooling.  While my blog typically points out the lifestyle changes and tax consequences of global warming, it’s important to remember what can happen if the planet is truly on a cooling trend and what to expect from such a scenario.
Here in the United States, we have the land configuration all worked out.  The midwest is considered the breadbasket of …

While the environmentalists continue to push their agenda with members of Congress, a literal growing problem is happening here in the states:  how to grow food in cool weather.  It appears farmers in Kansas are having a difficult time getting food to grow during cool and wet weather.  Some crops have failed.  Others are growing slowly.  I suspect that since there’s no real money involved in helping farmers, and the 300 million citizens that live here, no real counter to the global warming hoax will be proposed as the planet …

I admit, I got the idea of writing this article from one I viewed over at Read More: ClimateChangeFraud.com.  The author of that blog is right, though.  Science is infected to the point that almost no one notices any longer.
To take a step back from the global warming angle for just a moment, let’s think back to many scientific “truths” that we take for granted:  the universe is 13-point-something billion years old.  It all started with the Big Bang.  We evolved from apes.  Liberal environmentalists make great leaders.
The point to be …

Happy Memorial Day to those of you in America as well as to our fine men and women defending the freedoms of our country around the world. Skeptics Global Warming salutes those who have died in the line of duty as well as those who continue to serve around the globe.
Sunday, May 18:
Prince Charles announced that the world has a mere 18 months left to fix climate change before the planet experiences a series of natural disasters. I didn’t realize Charles had an interest in global warming affairs …

Al Gore was awarded a $1 million prize today in Tel Aviv for his contributions to making the world aware of the global crisis surrounding the burning of fossil fuels. Where’s my $1 million dollar prize for making the world aware of the global warming hoax? There was no mention as to whether Gore planned to keep the money or donate it to charity, like a food bank to feed those affected by the corn- based ethanol …

Good morning, folks, and welcome to the Global Warming Week-in-Review.
Sunday, May 11th:
10ksnookers.blogspot.com provided some interesting commentary on carbon credits and the cap-and-trade system, saying that it’s just a government-sanctioned ration on goods and services?  How?  Both systems limit the total amount of greenhouse gas that can be emitted into the atmosphere, which results in a limit of how much of a good or service can be produced without going over that limit.  Remember the gas lines of the 1970’s?  If this keeps up, expect to see lines for more than …

Alternative Fuel Sources »

More botched science on the part of the global warming activists. A new study finds that corn-based ethanol doubles the amount of greenhouse gas emissions over 30 years when compared to regular gasoline. So instead of saving the planet, the ecolibs are helping to push it further along the global warming path.

In the most ridiculous and blatant attempt to change your lifestyle, ABC News is suggesting that we all cut back on our meat consumption by one-quarter. The problem? Livestock are just too darn bad for the environment. Cows are fed soy and corn and, pay attention, the fertilizer used to grow corn is manufacturered by a facility that uses fossil fuels to harvest and process the feed. What we’re seeing here is a politicizing …

Commentary, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

As sort of a prequel to the two-part Skeptical Beginner’s Guide to the Global Warming Hoax I wrote over the last two weeks, here is a really basic primer on terminology used in the raging debate (yes, there is a debate) over global warming.
Anthropogenic:  a really fancy way of saying man-made.
Biofuels:  an energy source, mostly used by automobiles at this point, which is an alternative to gasoline and is derived from biological sources.  The most popular biofuel on the market today is corn-based ethanol.
Carbon Tax:  an additional source of revenue …
