Back when the news broke about rising food prices due, in part, to ethanol production to save the planet from global warming, I mentioned that the poor was the hardest hit.  Today, the MidKnight Review blog explores some other issues where the poor may be the hardest hit in the struggle to curtail global warming.  With many around the globe struggling just to feed themselves and their families each day, how can they react to the price of goods that are eco-friendly?  Green homes cost more than traditional homes.  Green …

A Climate Crisis A La Gore
This week I conclude my interview with Paul Spite, author of A Climate Crisis a la Gore.
Don’t forget - as a special bonus to readers of Skeptics Global Warming, Paul has graciously agreed to give away a free signed copy of his book, A Climate Crisis A La Gore, to one lucky person.  To enter yourself in the random drawing, simply leave a comment at the end of this week’s or last week’s article. (Via Jake Lake). Research is underway in seed banks to find food that is climate-proof.  Seeds will be screened to determine if they can more easily resist drought, floods and temperature swings.  The $1.5 million project will provide grants to others who study the seeds of developing nations in hopes of finding crops that can resist extreme climate events and grow with less water and higher temperatures.

Al Gore »

Al Gore, speaking today with Wangari Maathai, said the U.S. must be a leader in stopping global deforestation to fight global poverty, climate change and international instability.  From the article:
“We have to start reducing our pollution and substituting renewable sources of energy,” Gore said.”But, we also have to provide the means for stopping deforestation. One of the most effective things we can …

100 million people have been pushed below the poverty line, thanks to rising food prices. A baby of Gore and his global warming myth, biofuels manufactured from food is causing deforestation and additional use of water and fertilizer to grow the crops necessary to make it a reality.

Worms »

It seems Ontario is experiencing an army worm infestation, resulting in damaged crops. A spokesperson for the local agriculture department said that the cold weather may have allowed the worms to advance. Usually the worms shrivel up in the summer heat. Where’s global warming to save the day?

Food, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

As I was reading an article over at Hypisthermal’s site (Read More: hypsithermal.wordpress.com) on Kansas farmers trying to grow food in cool weather, I immediately began to ponder the possibilities of global cooling.  While my blog typically points out the lifestyle changes and tax consequences of global warming, it’s important to remember what can happen if the planet is truly on a cooling trend and what to expect from such a scenario.
Here in the United States, we have the land configuration all worked out.  The midwest is considered the breadbasket of …

While the environmentalists continue to push their agenda with members of Congress, a literal growing problem is happening here in the states:  how to grow food in cool weather.  It appears farmers in Kansas are having a difficult time getting food to grow during cool and wet weather.  Some crops have failed.  Others are growing slowly.  I suspect that since there’s no real money involved in helping farmers, and the 300 million citizens that live here, no real counter to the global warming hoax will be proposed as the planet …

On Sunday we learned that the leading scientist that linked the increase and intensity of hurricanes has since backed off that position. He has developed a new model that says there will be a moderate increase or decrease in hurricanes over the next two centuries.
Monday provided another blow to Al Gore’s global warming myth as the MIT scientist that claimed Hurricane Katrina was caused by global warming, Kerry Emanuel, has also backed off his position and has said that hurricanes will decrease over the next two centuries. It …

Monday, April 7th was the day the news broke about the BBC caving to environmental activists and modifying their story to make it look less like global warming is over. Man-made climate change may be indeed over as northern Minnesota received over two feet of snow on the same day.
On Tuesday, we learned that Los Angeles is considering a global warming tax. That’s not unusual in and of itself since California is typically thought of, as least by some of us in the east, as a blue state. …
