The Democrats have finally caved into Republican pressure over high gas prices and will let an October ban on offshore drilling expire. The Democrats offered up what some Republicans called a “sham” earlier this month to allow for offshore drilling 50 or more miles off the coast, which would eliminate 90% of the estimated 18 billion barrels of oil expected to be available off the continental shelf.

Nancy Pelosi »

The Democrats have punted the ball on fourth and inches.  Instead of giving the American people a real shot at energy independence, Pelosi and her posse passed a bill that would open offshore drilling only at 50 or more miles off the coast (where there’s about 3% of oil compared to 97% within 50 miles).  But this is all a moot point now as the bill won’t come up for a vote in the Senate until after the election.

Nancy Pelosi »

The Democrats in the House passed a very poor bill aimed at opening up offshore drilling in an effort to get themselves reelected, umm, lower energy prices for America.  The bill only allows for offshore drilling 50 miles out when most of the oil is much closer to the coastline.  Way to go, Dems!  We won’t forget this in November!

Looks like the energy debate could be coming up soon on Capitol Hill as Pelosi and her gang of good-for-nothings are back in session.  The energy bills that could be up for vote include the Democrats plan, the GOP plan and the Gang of 10 plan, with the two formers expected to include increased taxes and pork spending.  An energy freedom rally is being planned for October 1st in our nation’s capital by Senator Jim DeMint and Representatives Jeb Hensarling and John Shadegg.

Environmentalists »

Now this is a fascinating graph.  Going back to Jimmy Carter’s administration, American citizens were polled in various years on their association with environmentalist groups.  While Democrats were in control of the White House, fewer Americans were associated with environmental groups.  While Republicans held the Presidency, far more people declared themselves as being associated with environmentalist groups.

John Kerry published a piece in the Financial Times yesterday, which was really just a pitch for the Obama campaign.  In it, he said the polar ice caps are melting (as they have before this whole climate change scam started), the coastlines are shrinking (some are growing, Senator Kerry) and extreme weather is more common (no, no and no).  The former Presidential candidate also said that we need to “put our own house in order.”  A question for you, Senator Kerry:  will you be more specific?  I mean, after all, …

Newt Gingrich recently appeared with Sean Hannity to promote domestic drilling.  He’s also promoting a new country song by Aaron Tippins called “Drill Here, Drill Now”.  With Congress back in session, we all need to keep the heat on the Democrats to do their part in helping relieve our oil prices by allowing for more domestic drilling.  Follow the link below to American Conservative Daily for the download link to Aaron Tippins’ new song.

John McCain recycled some 12,000 miniature American flags left over from Barack Obama’s nomination speech last week and gave them to audience members at the Republican National Convention.  The flags were discovered in trash bags in and near garbage bins at Denver’s Invesco Field.  Democrats say that the flags weren’t being thrown away and were snatched by McCain for political gain.  I’d say trash bags full of flags in and near garbage bins is pretty convincing evidence that the Democrats were going to throw them out.  With Obama’s supposed concern …

Global Warming Hoax Lead Story, Sarah Palin »

[4 Sep 2008 | 2 Comments | 267 views]

Having watched Sarah Palin’s speech tonight during the broadcast of the Republican National Convention, she certainly seems like a go-getter and a bulldog.  From budget reform in Alaska to gas tax revenue refunds for taxpayers, it seems a nod for Palin is a good choice for America.  What struck me most during her nearly 45-minute speech, however, was a quick sentence or two that jabbed at leaders like Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi.  Palin said that she wants to drill in Alaska, but she wants to use all the resources …

Global Warming Hoax Lead Story, Hurricanes »

WIth Hurricane Gustav dealing a glancing blow to New Orleans, the city won’t, at least for now, experience an event similar to Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  With Katrina being the poster storm of the modern global warming movement, I wonder where the global warming activists are with the latest round of tropical storms.  There have been Hurricanes Bertha, Fay, Gustav and now Hanna (recently downgraded to a tropical storm) so far this year that have been contenders for threats to the mainland United States.  Gustav only made the Democrats suddenly …
