A Climate Crisis A La Gore
This week I conclude my interview with Paul Spite, author of A Climate Crisis a la Gore.
Don’t forget - as a special bonus to readers of Skeptics Global Warming, Paul has graciously agreed to give away a free signed copy of his book, A Climate Crisis A La Gore, to one lucky person. To enter yourself in the random drawing, simply leave a comment at the end of this week’s or last week’s article. One random commenter will be chosen on Tuesday, November 4th. Leave …
Conspiracy »
Yes, Virginia, there is a conspiracy and we have proof. This, from the Times Online, says that a government report found that disposable diapers were found to be more environmentally-friendly than their reusable counterparts but that information was withheld citing embarrassment by ministers. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs ordered civil servants to not publish the findings and take a defensive stance toward its conclusions.

Insects »
According to this post over at MaxRedline, termites produce more harmful methane than livestock. With the global warming alarmists’ concerns over methane bubbles rising from the melting polar caps and the gas being released from livestock, where is the outrage over the little insect that devours wood and passes more gas than my Uncle Joe? Also in the post, kangaroo meat is the most environmentally-friendly as roos pass less methane gas than the rest of the livestock on the planet.

And here I thought Seattle was a haven for planet-loving people and companies. Guess I was wrong. Seattle-based Starbucks is in trouble over leaving tap water running constantly in their 16,000 stores worldwide. The water is used for cleaning utensils and says that it’s done to prevent bacteria from growing in their taps. This procedure wastes, on minimum, about 1.63 million liters of water per day as it is not recycled. Starbucks is known as an environmentally-friendly company, having reduced their paper napkin size to reduce solid waste and even …
Global Warming Hoax Lead Story, Lifestyle »
The editor over at the Chilling Effect website posted a great article yesterday which expounded on a write-up in the LA Times. There is a growing disconnect between what the American people want and what Democrats think they want.
Remember Barack Obama’s answer to the growing energy crisis? Properly inflate your tires to save gasoline, he remarked. What was one of the dominant chants heard at the Republican National Convention? “Drill, baby, drill!” The American people are looking for solutions to the energy crisis, not simple-minded tactics that may save a …
Government Intervention »
Reported yesterday, Harry Reid’s attempt to include a ban of oil shale in a $56 billion economic stimulus package failed today in the US Senate. The House of Representatives is expecting to consider a similar bill as early as Friday but it, too, is expected to fail as President Bush has already threatened a veto. Senators not voting on the bill at all include John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Barack Obama (not even voting present!!) and Joe Biden (D-CT), among others. While the bill had enough votes for a …

Ah those Democrats. They love to be sneaky. Harry Reid is trying to ban whatever he can while everyone else in Congress is desperately trying to save our economy. Oil shale is the apple of Reid’s eye and he hopes to include legislation to ban 800 million to 2 billion barrels of oil from shale refinement in the current appropriations bill or as a separate amendment. So while everyone else is trying to come up with a plan to keep our economy out of a recession …
Indoctrination »
The state of Vermont is holding a competition between schools to determine which can reduce their contribution to global warming the most. Among the daily tasks to reduce carbon footprints undertaken by the students: bringing lunch in reusable containers and taking shorter showers. Government-mandated indoctrination at its finest!

Sharks »
Crank up the carbon-emitting vehicles and head down the road for some greenhouse gas-spewing fun, all in the name of saving an endangered species. Cold water has separated the endangered Australian grey nurse shark populations on the continent’s east and west coast but rising ocean temperatures, thanks to global warming, will allow the two groups to join and reduce the chance of an extinction. We can’t possibly enact legislation to stop global warming now. We could kill off the last remaining grey nurse sharks.

Al Gore »
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if global warming was truly a planetary emergency, leaders around the globe would do everything possible to help reduce the crisis. Instead, we see Gore’s large home with larger-than-life energy use and a 100-foot SolarOne house boat that runs on solar and biodiesel. Still, the ex-veep tours the globe in his private jet and air conditioned limousines to preach about lifestyle changes necessary to save the …
