The environmentalist folks over at PETA are up to their regular shenanigans again.  Now they’re requesting Hormel, of which PETA owns 100 shares of stock, to place a label on their meat products to indicate the footprint being passed on to consumers through the purchase of the meat.  “If meat is on the menu, so if a hefty serving of of greenhouse gases,” says one PETA representative.

Al Gore »

Interesting analysis here which mimics what I’ve been saying for quite some time. If Al Gore (and his fellow alarmists) truly believed in their cause, they’d take action to reduce their own carbon footprint rather than paying someone else to do it through the purchase of carbon offsets. Since carbon dioxide is so terrible for the planet, shouldn’t every little bit help?

WIth the Congressional recess underway, at least for Democrats, and a whirlwind book tour for Pelosi, Michelle Malkin has performed a carbon footprint calculation for Pelosi based on her expected book tour over the next few days.  While I won’t give the answer here, let’s just say Nancy should invest in some of Al Gore’s carbon credits to offset that not-so-conservative approach to saving the planet.

Carbon Tax »

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said earlier today that Stephane Dion’s carbon tax is not in place to lower Canada’s carbon footprint but, instead, is being used as an additional revenue stream for the Canadian government.  Harper continued to say that the tax will not be temporary and will not be revenue neutral if you base this tax on other historical taxes, which have never been either of those two things.

(H/T:  Paul).  New technology to scrub carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, all in an effort to save the world, is being opposed by - surprise, surprise - environmentalists.  Although the technology to pull carbon from the air to reduce the overall carbon dioxide greenhouse gas footprint in the atmosphere - the primary gas that is responsible for global warming according to activists - is now available, environmentalists oppose the plan to implement it, citing it will “undermine attempts to promote greener lifestyles and industries.”  If anything proves that the global …

I found this little carbon footprint calculator at some pro-global warming website and thought I’d plug in my numbers to see how I fare when compared to the rest of the world.  Even taking public transportation for the majority of the week and using substantially fewer miles on my vehicle than the national average, my carbon footprint is a whopping 23.863 tons, which is larger than the average American and, get this, more than 10 times the desired world average (two tons) if we want to fight climate change.  To …

Welcome everyone to the global warming hoax week-in-review!
Monday, June 30:
It seems that no matter how hard the environmentalists try, they just can’t get the planet to work in their favor.  The new highly-touted greenhouse gas methane, which is 24 times more powerful than carbon dioxide, seems to be leveling off in the atmosphere.  With all the Arctic ice melting away, we were supposed to see drastic increases in methane.  It’s just not happening.  Also, the Netherlands has instituted an airline tax in the name of global warming for all flights …

Prince Charles, in all his greenness, has reduced his carbon footprint by 18% down to a whopping 2,795 tons per year.  Considering the average Brit only has a carbon footprint of 10.92 tons per year, I believe Prince Charles has a long way to go before he can encourage others to do their part.

Whole Foods approached New Zealand-based Bloomsberry to develop Climate Change Chocolate after the company had been selling chocolate bars in the United States for about two years.  Whole Foods will donate 55 cents from each bar sold to TerraPass to pay for 133 pounds of carbon offsets, or about an average human’s carbon footprint per day.  Of course, consuming too much chocolate can cause obesity and we all know that the obese contribute more to global warming.
