According to this article, wind energy is five times more expensive to produce than coal. Solar energy is 20 times more expensive than coal. And subsidies are 100 times higher than oil on a per-unit basis. Alternative energy must not be ready for prime-time as energy companies simply aren’t investing in it heavily. At this point, the ROI of clean and renewable energy just isn’t in the positive column.

British Columbians may be in for a tax hike if British Columbia’s Climate Action Team has their say. To meet their first carbon reduction goal in 2012, the team has suggested increasing the carbon tax as well as applying the tax to all greenhouse gas emitters, not just those burning fossil fuels. Bob Barr was recently asked in a blogger conference call his opinion on global warming.  Barr felt that we, as a country, shouldn’t rush into an emergency plan for something that he onced referred to in an interview with Glenn Beck as a “myth”.  Barr says the science isn’t in on anthropogenic global warming and, until that time, more research into the topic should be done before policies are implemented.  He continued to say that we are a petroleum society and that’s not going to change in the long run …

Alan Caruba is reporting on Senator Harry Reid’s (D-NV) recent comments after buying into the Al Gore global warming myth and repeating talking points of environmentalists everywhere:  we have to stop using fossil fuels.  Coal and oil make us sick, he insists.  The global warming hoaxers have yet to formulate an energy plan based around any kind of reality with regard to solar and wind energy.  With liberal Democrats like Ted Kennedy around, it looks like wind power is fine as long as it’s not in his back yard.
