I guess global warming activists didn’t see this one coming.  After budgeting millions of dollars in green initiatives, capital is now drying up for most of them as corporations decide to be more frugal with their spending.  General Electric is bailing out of clean technologies and GE Financial is bailing out on them as well, citing the inability go out and borrow money for such projects.  So when it comes down to it, profit trumps greenery.

Tom Nelson has dug up an article from CBN News where a presidential advisor in the Philippines claimed that we’re only 42 years away from the global warming tipping point.  Whoa.  Not so fast there, partner.  The tipping point started in 1989 with a call by the U.N. to reverse global warming by the year 2000.  Al Gore recently said that we only have 10 years to get off fossil fuels and become dependent on clean and renewable energy.  Maybe all of these global warming activists should get into a …

With as much whining and crying from the global warming activists on achieving 100% renewable and clean energy, a new report has surfaced that changes everything. You know about those solar panels that will make us free from foreign oil dependency? The manufacturing process used to make them generates nitrogen trifluoride (NF3), which is 17,000 times more effective at increasing atmospheric temperature than carbon dioxide. Surprise, surprise. NF3 is also used in the production of flat-screen TVs and computer displays.

A professor at Stanford University named Brent Constantz has invented green cement that could absorb carbon dioxide emissions.  The cement creates no carbon dioxide in its creation and will actually absorb atmospheric carbon in itself.  Anyone want to guess when global warming activists will shoot this idea down like they’ve done with carbon scrubbers here, here and here?

This topic was discussed ad nauseum earlier this year but it’s worth reminding people that Barack Obama hasn’t given up on using biofuels to help solve the global warming crisis.  From this article over at the Rogers Institute, even using 6% of produced food in ethanol will require doubling agriculture production to maintain current output.  With Gore recently blaming global warming on population growth at his speech in Cambridge, it’s only fair that he and other global warming activists understand that using food for energy will only make climate change …

Tomorrow night in and around Cambridge, Massachusetts, is forecast to be so cold that it could break a record low set 125 years ago.  This isn’t the first time winter-like temperatures have hit at the same time as an environmentally-friendly event.  Back in December, it was a snowy day in Washington on the day of a global warming vote.  Proponents of global warming in Maryland were blanketed with snow in January.  And back in June, more global warming activists had to endure unseasonably cold temperatures in England.

(H/T:  Watts up with That).  It seems the global warming activists have yet another problem on their hands:  that darn Arctic sea ice just keeps accumulating, even though the planet is near the tipping point in the fight against global warming.  Arctic sea ice is now 28.7% higher than it was just one year ago and, with autumn just under way, we could be headed for an extremely rapid ice build at the pole.  If you recall, scientists predicted that there was a 50% chance that the Arctic would be …

Now this is only a regional effect experienced in one particular month, so I can’t say this means global warming is over. However, if Ireland had experienced the warmest September in 14 years, I’m sure global warming activists everywhere would be using it as definitive proof that the world is warming. Anyway, the temperature across the country never rose above 20 degrees anywhere - which is a first in 30 years. Average monthly air temperatures were about a half-degree below normal.

Carbon Tax, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

[6 Oct 2008 | No Comment | 109 views]

You thought the new bailout bill was designed to only save Wall Street and not Green Street.  Think again.  According to this NewsBusters article, the global warming activists have had their input into the new $810 billion bailout package.  So let’s dive into the details to see just how the climate change crowd has infiltrated a bill that was, for all intents and purposes, designed to keep the economy afloat by rescuing big financial institutions from failure.
One provision in the bill provides preferential tax treatment to publicly-traded institutions that engage …

Global Cooling »

The next time a global warming activist vehemently denies there ever being a scientific consensus on global cooling, just point them to an article from the New York Times dated January 30, 1961.  The article, entitled SCIENTISTS AGREE WORLD IS COLDER; But Climate Experts Meeting Here Fail to Agree on Reasons for Change, reported on a unanimous agreement among scientists on several continents that the world was, indeed, getting cooler.  Humans were not blamed for climate change in the article, although greenhouse gas emissions were mentioned but it was determined …
