Global warming activists might want to look away. Charlotte, North Carolina set a record low temperature last night, dropping to 18 degrees at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. The previous record was 20 degrees, set in 1951. This is the earliest that the city has dropped below 20 degrees.

(H/T: Gore Lied). What does President-elect The One think about global warming? Watch the video below and prepare to be stunned. And not in a good way.

(H/T: Tom Nelson). NBC’s Meredith Vieira said Sunday night during the Redskins-Cowboys NFL game that sea level could rise 200 feet if all of the glaciers melted. Of course, this isn’t even close to actual predictions of sea level rise if indeed global warming was a serious problem. But with NBC promoting green week, the fear-mongering continues and nobody calls them out.

Ugh. I thought the debate was finally over. After two lackluster hurricane seasons where carbon dioxide emissions continue to rise and global temperatures continue to fall, a new study by a Florida State University researcher finds that warming seas created by climate change make tropical cyclones stronger. The article credits MIT’s Kerry Emanuel’s 2005 assertion of this same hypothesis but neglects to mention that Emanuel backed off his theory earlier this year. But I have two problems with this article: one, the Argos buoys found …

Global warming has an unexpected side effect. The “dangerous” carbon dioxide that some scientists blame on rising global temperatures has been found to spark extra growth in trees. Increased levels of carbon dioxide cause sweetgum trees to absorb carbon dioxide faster. Who says global warming is nothing but doom-and-gloom? Well, besides the global warming activists…

Husband-and-wife filmmakers Ann McElhinney and Phelim McAleer are working on a film that explores the hysteria around global warming. Unfortunately they need about $4.5 million to make a full cinema release and have only managed to raise about $1 million, so they’ve started an online campaign a la Barack Obama, who raised money in this fashion for his successful election campaign for president. “The idea that CO2 causes climate change or causes global warming - let’s keep it clear - is not settled,” says McElhinney. “The idea of …

From a study done by Rutgers University. It found that those who believe in anthropogenic global warming aren’t any more likely to implement energy-saving measures than anyone else. Of course, we all knew this. Just look at Al Gore’s hypocrisy, the WWF’s hypocrisy, and environmentalists’ hypocrisy.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, the AIT index is the An Inconvenient Truth index, or a measure of global temperatures since Al Gore’s film of the same name was released on January 24, 2006. While Klockarman over at the Gore Lied site graphs the temperature data for us, I can go ahead and tell you that lower troposphere temperatures just aren’t cooperating with the global warming myth. Click on over and check out his monthly post.

I truly hate to use someone else’s headline for a post here at Skeptics Global Warming, but it was just so catchy that I couldn’t resist. The Irish Spy blog has some perspective on the news that ran over the weekend that James Hansen’s reporting on October temperatures were just a wee bit off, thanks to a blunder which brought over September temperatures. With record snowstorms and cold blanketing the northern hemisphere again this winter, it looks like we could be in for a long-term cooling trend. …
