It wasn’t enough that we were asked to cut back on meat consumption to stop global warming.  Now consumers are being asked to cut back on milk intake to save the world from the devastating effects of climate change.  According to the article, meat and dairy products are responsible for eight percent of greenhouse gas emissions followed by fruit and vegetables.  Consumers are encourages to follow wartime protocol of shopping by foot, buying local produce and cooking in bulk.  Also, consumers are encouraged to reduce consumption of items with low …

A new study out of Ohio State University suggests that river floods and storms that send water flowing into marshes and wetlands may help reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions in those areas. Methane levels were about twice as high in areas with slow, steady water when compared with areas that had gushing water added to the system.

It’s that time once again where politicians and rock musicians from around the globe fly their carbon-emitting private jets to a location on the planet to raise awareness of global warming.  Live Earth, to be held on December 7th in Mumbai India, is still working on the attendee list but has confirmed Jon Bon Jovi.  Al Gore, surprisingly speaking from satellite rather than flying in his personal jet to India for a personal message, said India was chosen because it’s the world’s largest democracy and has significant influence on the …

By James Nash
A recent poll of 530 climatologists in 27 countries showed 34.7 percent of interviewees endorsed the notion that a substantial part of the current global warming trend - which might see temperatures rise by a degree or two, on average, by century ’s end - is caused by man ’s industrial activities: driving cars and the like.
More than a fifth - 20.5 percent - rejected this “anthropogenic hypothesis.” Half were undecided. The skeptics now include the 85 climate experts who signed the 1995 Leipzig Declaration; the …

Portugal is set to pay about 10 billion Euros between 2013 and 2020 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet the EU’s energy and climate pact.  Electricity producers will pay the brunt of the costs, up to 6.6 billion, while industry will pay the remainder.  Electricity rates are expected to jump six to eight percent and some costs will be passed on to consumers.  Coming up in 2013:  how Portugal’s economy is rocked by greenhouse gas reduction scheme.

The soon-to-be Democratic nominee says he will push hard to curb carbon.  Big Government Barack wants to expand the EPA’s authority over greenhouse gas emissions if Congress won’t work out a cap-and-trade scheme to limit the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced by U.S. companies.  Just another big government liberal that wants to take your money folks.  If you want more Al Gore in your life, vote for Obama.

Economy, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »

[26 Aug 2008 | 8 Comments | 475 views]

I recently read a comment on the Internet from a global warming activist that presented that exact same connotation.  If global warming turns out to be a myth, so what?  The narrow-mindedness and intense focus of climate change proponents on one issue, global warming, has the potential to cause massive economic failures globally.  The lack of care, comprehension, or both with regard to anthropogenic climate change and the impact of measures designed to counteract it is completely immoral.
Global warming activists have one item on their agenda:  stop climate change at …

Let’s see if the liberal environmentalists take this story and run with it. A recent study found that immigration into the U.S. from both legal and illegal sources increases greenhouse gas emissions. While immigrants produce 18% less emissions than residents, they produce four times as much as they did in their country of origin.

South Carolina is taking a smart approach to the whole climate change effort, well, smarter than most other plans I’ve seen in various other states. Nuclear is part of the solution in the state with a mix of personal effort to help stave off man-made greenhouse gas emissions. The concern is to not hinder economic development, which should be near the top of any state’s priority list of concerns.

More analysis from Alan Caruba: India and China have both not considered measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in an effort to stave off global warming. India has flat-out refused while China hasn’t shown any public interest in following the Al Gore movement.
