Just in from Anthony Watts’ site (who is a confirmed speaker at this year’s event): the International Conference on Climate Change will return to New York City on March 8, 2009. This year’s theme is “Global Warming Crisis: Canceled”. You can read up on happenings from last year here and here. While last year’s conference didn’t get a great deal of media attention outside Fox News and some bashing from liberal blogs, there is a continued sense of confidence going into this year’s event as global temperatures continue to fall …

The atmosphere may now contain about 5400 metric tons of greenhouse gases, according to American scientists, and that number may be climbing by 11% per year. Now, here are my two questions (and thanks, scientists, for letting this cat out of the bag): one, if greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are 400% more than originally anticipated, why are planetary temperatures plummeting? And two, if science is able to estimate temperature increases worldwide to within a fraction of a degree, how did you miss that greenhouse gases were 400% what you …

After lambasting the WWF during the last couple of weeks over being a bunch of hypocrites, my post grabbed some attention by someone defending the actions of the WWF. Apparently, the WWF’s trip-of-a-lifetime for 88 people with cash on a jet to exotic places around the world isn’t exactly hypocritical. Even if one person on that trip sees what animal species can be saved by conservation, it will be worth it. But just how many pounds of carbon dioxide will be emitted by that jet during the trip and just …

This is a fascinating letter from the Viscount of Monckton of Brenchley to John McCain regarding global warming. In it, sea level, global temperature, greenhouse gases and glacial melt are all discussed. This is a very informative read for any of you in doubt about whether or not “man-made” global warming is a fact, or just another political fallacy generated by those who want your money and control over your lives.

Atmospheric carbon dioxide is now at 383 parts per million and total atmospheric greenhouse gas is at 410 parts per million. According to the latest UN report, if these greenhouse gases rise to 450 PPM, “the world risks mass extinction of species and temperatures would soar more than 2.5C.” Emissions are on the rise at an annual rate of 3.5%, despite the fear-mongering cries of global warming activists. With sea level rise hardly measurable and very short of predictions, maybe many around the world just see man-made climate change on …

Why sucker a group of individuals once when you can convince that same group of people to buy into your scam over and over again? That’s what could happen if carbon credits become mainstream in the United States and around the world. Carbon credits are fees paid to a governing body to allow you, or a company, to sin. The sin, according to the Book of Global Warming, is to release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere - namely carbon dioxide. So breathe slowly and continue reading. …

The environmentalist folks over at PETA are up to their regular shenanigans again. Now they’re requesting Hormel, of which PETA owns 100 shares of stock, to place a label on their meat products to indicate the footprint being passed on to consumers through the purchase of the meat. “If meat is on the menu, so if a hefty serving of of greenhouse gases,” says one PETA representative.

Carbon Tax, Global Warming Hoax Lead Story »
Most of you that are skeptical of global warming see the explicit lifestyle choices being forced in your personal lives from new compact fluorescent light bulbs that contain mercury (and cost much more) to expensive gasoline that can be traced back to lack of action by environmentalists and the Democrats who love them. But did you realize there’s a more sinister plan in the works? It’s already being discussed in Britain and could make its way to the United States quickly if the global warming activists have their way. It’s …

The state of California is suing the Environmental Protection Agency for being derelict in their duties of regulating greenhouse gas emissions. The Clean Air Act was supposed to force the agency into action, but California thinks it speaks for the entire nation. Come on, California, you do have some rights as a state. If you’re that concerned about greenhouse gases, think globally but act locally. Or does that old environmental slogan no longer apply?

South Africa, as part of their voluntary greenhouse gas reduction plan, is exploring options to implement a tax on carbon to help reduce the country’s overall emissions according to Environmental Affairs and Tourism Minister Marthinus van Schalkwyk. While not finalized yet, the carbon tax may start off with a small overall rate and increase as we get closer to 2018 or 2020. In addition, the country is in discussions to implement a cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions to limit the overall greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere by the country. …
