These guys just can’t get their predictions right, so why even bother trying? The new forecast says there’s an 85% change of an above-normal season, up from 65% in May. The original forecase called for 12 to 16 named storms but that has been revised to 14 to 18 named storms, of which seven to 10 are expected to become hurricanes. Original forecast here: Read More: www.skepticsglobalwarming.com and another one here:

Researchers at MIT have determined that global warming causes a decrease in hurricane activity, contrary to what Al Gore led us to believe in his film An Inconvenient Truth.  A report published in May of this year goes further with the original study from Kerry Emanuel in March to say that Atlantic activity is expected to decrease 18% by the end of the century.  I did an independent investigation just a few weeks ago that showed no link between hurricanes, hurricane intensity and global warming.

With predictions of more severe hurricanes and storms thanks to global warming (which I debunked earlier this week), Dr. William Gray has another idea.  He says that global warming has been grossly exaggerated and calls all the dire warnings “hype”.  Gray also took a swipe at the mainstream media for creating unnecessary public hysteria over global warming.

Global Warming Hoax Lead Story, Weather »

Taking a cue from recent research into tornadoes and global warming, I set out on a journey over the weekend to discover if a link exists between total hurricane strike count and global warming as well as hurricane strike intensity and global warming.  I’ve graphed the results of my study below.
Before getting into the results, however, I must point out a few things.  First, the hurricane data used for this study is from the National Weather Service’s site here and the temperature variance data is from NASA’s GISS website, which …

Global warming is now causing glaciers to grow, according to this article at Read More: NewsBusters.org.  Simply laughable, I say.  Now think back to all of the tall tales spun by Al Gore and his global warming crowd.  Global warming causes floods, drought, increased hurricanes, increased tornadoes, unbearable heat and an intensity of storms.
I’ve said time and time again on this blog that the planet simply isn’t cooperating with the global warming movement.  The environmentalists say the poles are melting, and Antarctica puts on a record ice growth show.  They say …

Hurricane Bertha, now back to a Category 1 hurricane after reaching Category 3 strength, didn’t really last long enough for much of the mainstream media to blame it on global warming.  And, as is typical of the climate change craze, there was really no reason to do so.  Hurricane Bertha didn’t make land fall and didn’t cause any widespread catastrophes that would give fodder to the global warming movement.  There will be more hurricanes, though, and more opportunities for the environmentalists to make their claim that hurricanes are truly a …

Welcome everyone to the global warming hoax week-in-review!
Monday, June 30:
It seems that no matter how hard the environmentalists try, they just can’t get the planet to work in their favor.  The new highly-touted greenhouse gas methane, which is 24 times more powerful than carbon dioxide, seems to be leveling off in the atmosphere.  With all the Arctic ice melting away, we were supposed to see drastic increases in methane.  It’s just not happening.  Also, the Netherlands has instituted an airline tax in the name of global warming for all flights …

Just yesterday I made a post asking how long it would be before the latest tropical storm is blamed on global warming.  Well, about a day.  All the scientists are back in front of the microphones and cameras preaching Gore’s talking points - hurricanes will increase in intensity and numbers.  There’s been a “flurry of science related to global warming and hurricanes” in recent months, according to this article.

With floods, hurricanes, tornados and earthquakes now being blamed on global warming, someone had a great idea: compare storm count to years of warming and see the results. Tornados actually decrease in warmer years and increase in cooler years. Guess there is no connection after all.

The Wall Street Journal Online has an article here that describes how home insurance companies are raising their rates for coastal residents because of increased hurricanes due to climate change.  When was the last time an unproven science was blamed for increasing insurance rates?
