With the elections rapidly approaching, I think it’s important for everyone to watch this five minute video. In it, Barack Obama explains his thoughts on global warming (he thinks it’s real, folks and fears catastrophic consequences of climate change).

I think I’ve now heard it all. Helmet hair from cycling may contribute to global warming. How, you ask? Well evidently people are concerned about bicycle helmets messing up their hair so, instead of cycling to work and not polluting the world with those nasty carbon dioxide molecules, they drive. Hence, the fear of messing up hair is killing the planet. What a bunch of baloney.
Of course, we could all just buy a “hairmet”. Confused? Watch the Scrubs clip below:

Disputing Global Warming »
Just in from Anthony Watts’ site (who is a confirmed speaker at this year’s event): the International Conference on Climate Change will return to New York City on March 8, 2009. This year’s theme is “Global Warming Crisis: Canceled”. You can read up on happenings from last year here and here. While last year’s conference didn’t get a great deal of media attention outside Fox News and some bashing from liberal blogs, there is a continued sense of confidence going into this year’s event as global temperatures continue to fall …

The atmosphere may now contain about 5400 metric tons of greenhouse gases, according to American scientists, and that number may be climbing by 11% per year. Now, here are my two questions (and thanks, scientists, for letting this cat out of the bag): one, if greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are 400% more than originally anticipated, why are planetary temperatures plummeting? And two, if science is able to estimate temperature increases worldwide to within a fraction of a degree, how did you miss that greenhouse gases were 400% what you …

Indoctrination »
As if the indoctrination surrounding our children in schools wasn’t enough, the mainstream media has decided to make Hallowe’en a green event from this year forward. MSN has an article for tips on making Hallowe’en more environmentally friendly. After all, any kid having a “normal” Hallowe’en is just killing the planet. I wonder if the enviro-patrol will be on duty looking out for rule-breakers?

Science really has a way of working together without politicizing an event when something needs to get done and a true crisis is on our hands. When people were dying in the early 1980’s for reasons unknown, scientists put their heads together and debated the cause and eventually came up with the answer - Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. There were no political struggles to squash opinions and everyone of any importance was heard. Today, we don’t have that luxury. Global warming has become the politicized event of the decade with …
