In an upcoming edition of Science Magazine, the debate over which was first - a spike in carbon dioxide or a spike in temperatures - is examined. Ocean currents are also studied to see how they can be predictors of climate change. Historical looks at Greenland temperature increases are also included in the article, which show that increases in temperature were preceded by increases in carbon dioxide two to four thousand years in the past. So does this mean we have another couple of thousand years to wait before global …

Nitrogen, an odorless and colorless gas found in 80% of the atmosphere is now the focus of climate change scientists who think it’s another component in climate change. The 80% naturally-occurring atmospheric nitrogen isn’t the problem, according to the article. It’s the 1% reactive nitrogen found in the 80% atmospheric concentration that’s going to affect the climate. Reactive nitrogen bonds with other elements to form smog, create dead zones in oceans and cause cancer. And humans have doubled the amount of reactive nitrogen in the atmosphere. Of course, nitrogen is …

Science writer and fellow skeptic David Bradley takes on the common questions posted by the global warming activists and debunks their claims. From melting ice to carbon capture and ocean seeding, David hits some of the talking points of the global warming hoax.

(H/T: Blog at the End of Time). Another silly idea has been proposed by scientists that just don’t seem to grasp scale. Lime can be added to the oceans to increase their ability to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The problem is that (a) the oceans are huge and this would be a massive undertaking, (b) limestone has to be heated to the correct temperature to create calcium oxide (lime), so how will all that heat be generated and (c) does anyone really know the …

The state of Maryland is predicted to have heat like Phoenix, Arizona, but with humidity. Expect to see new plants and animal species come to the region. And, most importantly, Maryland’s land mass will shrink because of increasing ocean levels over the coming decades. But let’s not forget how global warming protesters were covered in snow last January.

Rachel Carson, whose book Silent Spring helped ban DDT, penned one before Silent Spring called The Sea Around Us, that suggests ocean currents are responsible for climate change and makes no mention of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions as a cause.

Natural cycles in ocean currents, not anthropogenic carbon emissions, have pushed the planet slightly cooler since 1998 when an El Nino-induced heat wave covered the planet. The latest research indicates that this cooling trend could last a total of 20 years before natural forces reverse it.

The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration released figures yesterday saying that June was the ninth warmest June on record at 0.9 degrees (F) warmer than the average June. But not so fast! The University of Alabama at Huntsville presented their global assessment declaring June the ninth coldest in 30 years of record keeping. A NASA satellite source pegged June as the 13th coldest on record in 30 years. So who is right and if no one really knows, how can global warming truly be a crisis?

The theories surrounding melting ice rushing down cracks in glaciers leading to a melting snowball effect are wrong, according to this article. Glacial movement in Greenland has slowed by about 10% over the last 17 years, instead, leading us to believe that scientists don’t always know what they’re talking about. Greenland’s not melting into the ocean and sea levels aren’t going to rise 20 feet worldwide, no matter how much Al Gore preaches it.

G.W. Denier over at Global Shamming has brought up a really good point: how long before the latest tropical storm brewing in the Atlantic Ocean is blamed on global warming? Will that only happen once it hits land? Or if it strengthens to a category 3, 4 or 5? Or will the global warming hoaxers bide their time until a second or third storm appears this season? Place your votes in the comments.
