(Via Jake Lake). Research is underway in seed banks to find food that is climate-proof.  Seeds will be screened to determine if they can more easily resist drought, floods and temperature swings.  The $1.5 million project will provide grants to others who study the seeds of developing nations in hopes of finding crops that can resist extreme climate events and grow with less water and higher temperatures.

Global Warming Hoax Lead Story, Hurricanes »

[24 Sep 2008 | No Comment | 223 views]

I recently read an article over at the Duke Chronicle that discussed the link between global warming and hurricanes and, more importantly, the inability to link global warming and hurricanes.  The article says that Hurricane Ike reignited the debate of whether or not a link exists between hurricanes and climate change.  Having done my own study on the connection between tropical systems and temperature, I can tell you that I didn’t see any connection.  Activists, however, see things differently.  Al Gore recently tried to link the two, citing higher temperatures …

By James Nash
A recent poll of 530 climatologists in 27 countries showed 34.7 percent of interviewees endorsed the notion that a substantial part of the current global warming trend - which might see temperatures rise by a degree or two, on average, by century ’s end - is caused by man ’s industrial activities: driving cars and the like.
More than a fifth - 20.5 percent - rejected this “anthropogenic hypothesis.” Half were undecided. The skeptics now include the 85 climate experts who signed the 1995 Leipzig Declaration; the …

Nitrogen, an odorless and colorless gas found in 80% of the atmosphere is now the focus of climate change scientists who think it’s another component in climate change.  The 80% naturally-occurring atmospheric nitrogen isn’t the problem, according to the article.  It’s the 1% reactive nitrogen found in the 80% atmospheric concentration that’s going to affect the climate.  Reactive nitrogen bonds with other elements to form smog, create dead zones in oceans and cause cancer.  And humans have doubled the amount of reactive nitrogen in the atmosphere.  Of course, nitrogen is …

$50 billion dollars since 1990 and now $5 billion per year. With so many other life-saving opportunities that could be researched using $5 billion dollars annually, why is this money being spent on the global warming hoax? Must not be that much profit in immunizations for children in Africa or feeding the homeless. There’s the focus of your bleeding-heart Democrats and environmentalists.

Disputing Global Warming »

(H/T: Remembering God). Researchers poring over ice core samples from Greenland have made a remarkable discovery. The Earth is usually an ice ball with warm interglacial period exceptions, according to Thomas L. Friedman. The researchers determined from the ice core samples that “our climate system has the ability to make very abrupt changes all by itself.” One change was so dramatic, according to the article, that the air warmed over Greenland by 10 degrees Celsius in just 50 years.

Researchers at Perdue have found a way to make LED lighting more efficient to manufacture with the ability to reduce energy use by one-third without that annoying CFL flicker and poisonous mercury.  Let’s hope this technological breakthrough won’t get hammered by the environmentalists like the new carbon dioxide scrubber.

Researchers at MIT have determined that global warming causes a decrease in hurricane activity, contrary to what Al Gore led us to believe in his film An Inconvenient Truth.  A report published in May of this year goes further with the original study from Kerry Emanuel in March to say that Atlantic activity is expected to decrease 18% by the end of the century.  I did an independent investigation just a few weeks ago that showed no link between hurricanes, hurricane intensity and global warming.

Bob Barr was recently asked in a blogger conference call his opinion on global warming.  Barr felt that we, as a country, shouldn’t rush into an emergency plan for something that he onced referred to in an interview with Glenn Beck as a “myth”.  Barr says the science isn’t in on anthropogenic global warming and, until that time, more research into the topic should be done before policies are implemented.  He continued to say that we are a petroleum society and that’s not going to change in the long run …
