St. Andrews golf course could crumble into the sea thanks to global warming, or not.  It all depends on who’s right.  If the IPCC and their predictions of a few inches of sea-level rise turns out to be correct, the golf course is safe.  If we believe the Gore philosophy of 20 feet of sea-level rise, the course is doomed.  But with science being wrong about Bangladesh losing dry land thanks to climate change, I think the course will live on.

In what could be a fight to the finish to determine the true king of global warming scientists, James Hansen - NASA scientist and political ally to former Vice President Al Gore and Dr. Roy Spencer, a U.S. science team leader for the group’s collection of satellite temperature data are at odds about global warming.  Hansen says that if we don’t stop carbon emissions, “we’re going to destroy creation,” while Spencer remarked, “we have little to worry about in the way of man-made global warming and associated climate change.”

Researcher Dr. John Christie has been studying climate science for years but in a different way from other scientists in his field. Christie studies the real world instead of basing assumptions on computer models. With collaborator David H. Douglass, the two have published a new report that concludes that something else must be driving climate change as the signatures studied do not associate with carbon dioxide climate forcing.

With all of the hype surrounding scientists and their ability to understand everything from subatomic particles to the origins of the universe, it sure seems the fellows at NASA just can’t get anything right with regard to our nearest star, the sun.  Solar Cycle 24 seems to be a real mystery to these people and their predictions about when the new cycle will begin remains a puzzle.  Already this year, predictions made about the start of the new solar cycle were updated in March and April and again now.  Clearly …
