Two days ago I reported on published October temperature data from NASA that was a simple copy-and-paste job from September. Looks like the fellows over at NASA have corrected their GISTEMP data and have brought their site back online.

Surprise, surprise!  After a little research by Anthony Watts, it appears as though some October surface temperature data was conveniently copied directly from the previous month by James Hansen and his global warming patrol over at NASA.  This is a very interesting read and makes you wonder how, if true, such data manipulation could take place.

Meterologist Art Horn is accusing NASA’s James Hansen of manipulating global temperature data. Hansen, a global warming activist, is accused of making pre-1970 temperatures lower than actual observed readings to make temperature increases after 1970 seem more prominent. Horn wrote to Hansen’s boss in September expressing his displeasure with the handling of the data, but has not received a reply.

Anyone out there ever watch that game show “The Weakest Link”?  It was comprised of many individuals who were all subjected to various questions and had to provide answers to them.  At the end of each round, each of the players would vote off who they deemed the weakest player, in terms of correct answers, during that round.  While the show was fun to watch and the host provided some biting sarcasm, it can also be used as a great example of what is truly the weakest link in global …

In what could be a fight to the finish to determine the true king of global warming scientists, James Hansen - NASA scientist and political ally to former Vice President Al Gore and Dr. Roy Spencer, a U.S. science team leader for the group’s collection of satellite temperature data are at odds about global warming.  Hansen says that if we don’t stop carbon emissions, “we’re going to destroy creation,” while Spencer remarked, “we have little to worry about in the way of man-made global warming and associated climate change.”

Maybe there is record Arctic ice melt after all.  Since ice measurements have only been occurring by satellite for the last 29 years, I’d say the environmentalists and global warming hoaxers have little to no historical record on which to base their comparisons.  In fact, Read More: GlobalWarmingHoax.com studied the temperature data from 2007 and it to be relative to temperature data prior to 1960.  So, sure, there may be record ice loss.  But it’s like saying you have a bad driving record after an accident on your first day on …

The NOAA claims that the summer of 2008 was the ninth warmest on record.  However, according to this article at Watts Up With That, the satellite temperature measurements dispute this claim.  The NOAA claims the summer of 2008 saw temperatures at 0.85 degrees Fahrenheit above the 20th century mean of 60.1 degrees Fahrenheit.

The July global temperature data is out and July scored a little above the zero anomaly line but, as you can see on the graph (click link below), the world is a far cry from the 1998 levels. Global temperatures have cooled precipitously since 1998, as is proof from this charted temperature data.

Anthony Watts was recently asked to speak at the National Data Climate Center back in April because of his Read More: SurfaceStations.org project.  But it seems the mission of the NDCC has changed over time.  What was an organization that collected meteorological and temperature data has morphed into more of an advocacy group, providing literature based more on emotions than true scientific value.

(H/T: SaintKnowItAll). There’s a discrepancy between James Hansen’s data and the global temperature data produced by three other institutions according to this Telegraph article. It appears Hansen has been adjusting pre-1970 temperature data downward while adjusting post 1970 data upward. Hansen was forced to republish his figures once in the past to show the hottest years on record didn’t happen in the 1990’s but rather in the 1930’s.
