Global warming has been blamed on hampering efforts to fight poverty, according to U.N. Deputy Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro.  The food and oil crises are causing significant hurdles to achieving the 10-year Brussels Programme of Action.  While the U.N. is quick to blame food shortages on rising oil prices, let’s not forget that the great ethanol bust caused rice, corn and wheat prices to skyrocket earlier this year.  So, yes, the U.N. is correct:  climate change has hurt the fight against poverty.  But not in the way they describe.

Over the weekend, the U.N. suggested that meat-eaters are causing more anthropogenic global warming. If we want to make a personal sacrifice for the good of the planet, we should have one meat-free day every week. Here’s my thought: how about the elitists involved in the global warming sham stop their personal jet flights around the country first, since global warming is a true crisis, instead of paying for carbon credits that may or may not benefit the planet.

(H/T: Paul). I posed a question to my readers last week as to when the tipping point would really start with regard to global warming. Should we expect that the goalposts will continue to move as climate catastrophes prophesized failed to come to fruition?Almost on cue, a press release from James Inhofe’s blog has pointed out that the U.N. made a statement in 1989 that we must reverse the effects of global warming by the year …

It appears all that is James Hansen isn’t as pure as the driven snow.  From U.N. scientists disputing his anthropogenic global warming myth to contributions from the Heinz corporation, it seems the man behind the curtain has some dirty laundry to air in the wake of his 20th anniversary declaration of global warming.

Hi everyone and welcome to the week-that-was in global warming hoax news!  I hope everyone took a moment to visit or remember their father on this Father’s Day in the U.S.
Sunday, June 8th:
When you think of socialism, do images of China and the former Soviet Union come to mind?  Believe it or not, it’s slowing coming to the United States as environmentalists push for more control in government.  The recently defeated Lieberman-Warner bill debated in the U.S. Senate is one example where environmentalists are pushing their agenda for control through …

Hi everyone, and welcome to the Global Warming Week-in-Review.
Sunday, May 25th:
I took the day off.  Sorry, folks.  There are just some days there isn’t enough worthwhile news to post.
Monday, May 26th:
The McCain-Lieberman-Warner bill is set for debate in the U.S. Senate beginning Monday, June 2nd.  This proposed legislature and final fantasy of environmentalists across the country, would be an economic disaster and would allow the government to regulate emissions of the same gas we exhale.  Do we really want more government regulation?   The U.N. is back in the news …

Government Intervention »

You’d think the U.N. would be more careful after it’s oil-for-food scandal, but it appears the organization continues to mismanage their assets and authority. This time, the group has been handing out carbon credits to industries that have proclaimed their programs qualify. A watchdog group has learned that many of these initiaves don’t qualify at all and no greenhouse gas is being reduced after all.

The U.N. climate chief is concerned over a slow down in measures to combat global warming and is wondering if a new pact on global climate change can be reached by December 2009. The problem lies with the politicizing of the issue and how countries around the world can be equally responsible for doing their part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Not mentioned in this Associated Press article is the economic impact that will be felt by those countries that do implement carbon-cutting measures. The article did, …

Welcome to the Global Warming Week-In-Review! I hope everyone will take a few minutes out of their day to call, visit or remember their mother today as we celebrate Mother’s Day here in the U.S. Now, let’s get down to business.
Sunday, May 4th:
A new threat was unveiled Sunday as scientists determined that recent shark attacks were brought on by none other than global warming.  While this theory sounds good to those pushing the global warming agenda, I wonder how long it will take before any bad situation is …

Alternative Fuel Sources »

[4 May 2008 | 2 Comments | 19 views]

Olivier de Schutter, new U.N.’s new top advisor wants biofuel investments halted due to the rapid rise in food prices caused by their use in alternative forms of fuel.  He said 100 million of the poorest people in the world are impacted by the skyrocketing food prices and called the biofuel program initiated by Europe and the United States irresponsible.  He went on to say that the biofuel rush was a “scandal that only serves the interests of a tiny lobby”.
