Virginia, Minnesota received 32 inches of snow while Itasca County received 29 inches. Interstate Highway 94 was closed as were dozens of school districts. In what is predicted to be a cool 2008, winter is extending into spring following the coolest winter in the northern hemisphere in 30 years. Record cold temperatures were also recorded in International Falls earlier this year.
