About

I began this blog in December 2007 after seeing all of the media hype around global warming. However, I realized something wasn’t right when alternative opinions weren’t being presented. After doing some investigative work, I found an entire universe on the web specifically devoted to debunking the popular global warming scene and, specifically, the anthropogenic, or man-made, global warming theory. As a fiscal conservative, I am opposed to increased government control and taxes and this seemed to be the ultimate goal of global warming. It was at that time I decided to do my part in helping to debunk the global warming hysteria.

The inspiration for Skeptics Global Warming’s design came from the Drudge Report, a news site run by Matt Drudge. Drudge has a team of contributors that scour the web for the latest news and, instead of blogging on the news, they simply create the headline and link directly to the source. I’ve expanded on the Drudge Report style modestly by summarizing and commenting on the linked article to add my own personal touch.

I am not new to website design and administration. Having developed software professionally for eight years now, I started my first website in 1999 called Anthology Project, a Beatles-related site with discographies and scanned clips from print media. A second domain for the site was added later and the site became known as the Beatles Forum and, after losing the domain name without an upcoming expiration notice, the site was reborn under RealBeatles.com. I shut down the site in 2003 with little new Beatles news available.

With my iPhone in hand, I scan the news and find interesting sources of information that help provide the skeptics point of view of global warming and post most of it wirelessly. In four months, Skeptics Global Warming has grown to 6500+ visitors per month with no end in sight. At the time of this writing, I have 7000+ articles indexed in Google in several languages, a small but growing Technorati authority and a handful of newly-registered users and comments every week.

Now that this site is gaining in popularity, my “funding” has come into question. This is a labor of love and I don’t receive any type of money from those on either side of the debate unless their ad shows up on the Google Adsense I run in each post. I don’t filter those ads, so whatever shows up there I’m not controlling. As to my credentials for this site: it’s a blog, not a science journal. I make an effort to blog on the news articles of the day.

Want to contact me? Drop me a line at warming ///at/// skepticsglobalwarming.com. I’d love to hear your questions and comments either for or against global warming or about my blog.

Lastly, thanks for visiting and reading. I hope you’ll tell your friends about Skeptics Global Warming!
