Next 365 Days: The Global Warming Hoax Agenda Outlined
A few weeks ago, the U.S. Senate shot down the Lieberman-Warner bill with, quite frankly, little show of emotion from the Democrats and Republicans that supported the legislation to combat the global warming hoax. With such a looming crisis on our hands, and with such dire consequences predicted if we don’t change the course of our carbon-emitting ways, why was there such little fight in a bill that was supposedly so important to the direction of our nation? Even the (then) three Presidential candidates - Hussein Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain - failed to show up to vote on the bill. Did Senators finally listen to the American people? Or is there something else in the air?
2008, as you all know, is an election year. It’s time for those whose jobs are on the line to put on their best face and spend thousands, or in some cases millions, of dollars demonstrating to the public their crowning achievements while in office. But at the same time, these lame-duck legislators must be wary of supporting, and voting for, bills that would increase taxes for the American people. While dozens of Senators voted for the Lieberman-Warner bill, few made a point to speak about the bill’s defeat afterwards, hoping to not draw attention to themselves negatively.
The Lieberman-Warner bill was just a test run. It allowed the global warming apologists to get a feel for how many votes they’re going to have to buy get in order to pass this legislation in the U.S. Senate. The real event will happen next year when either Senators McCain or Obama are elected to the White House. Then, and only then, will they be able to get their spending-laden bill made into law, and watch the new revenue flood into the U.S. Treasury’s coffers. The hope here is to do this as quickly after the 2008 elections as possible so that any voter dissent will be forgotten or swept under the rug before the 2010 election. The elected officials that vote for this bill certainly don’t want to lose their cushy jobs in Washington, and the only safe way to pass this legislation and keep their jobs is to do it as far away from an election year as possible. Voters forget. And politicians count on it.
